Indian Amphibian checklist, now stands 433 species (Frogs and Toads – 392, Salamanders – 2, Caecilians- 39). The checklist has gone up by 149 species compared to 284 species in 2009, within a short span of 10 years. Describing 149 species new to science! There is no word to appreciate the Amphibian researchers’ concerted effort. Despite evolved 360 million years ago, these amphibians are struggling to survive mainly due to anthropogenic activity.

Species recorded over a period of two years (2017-2019) are listed below. Observations made randomly during the night time and also between dawn and midday in organic farms- Indraprastha and Kanana, and nearby fresh water bodies in and around Mysore City have been consolidated.
