Nature walk in Chamundi Vana, Chamundi Foot Hills

Habitat: Scrub, and plantations of local species
Duration: 7.00 to 10 AM
Highlight: 25+ Participants observed 46 bird, 36 butterfly and few flowering plant species (guided by Suresh VP, Sheshgiri BR, Tanuja DH, Girija T & Sahana M).
- Few interesting sightings -
- Plants in flowering – Largestroemia flosreginae, Pterolobium hexapetalum, Passiflora foetida, Argyreia nervosa, Stachytarpheta jamaicensis and S. mutabilis
- Butterflies–Southern Birdwing, Common Leopard, Blue Tiger, Double branded Crow, Lime Blue, Dark Grass Blue, Indian Skipper
- Birds –Gray-bellied Cuckoo & Jungle Prinia were making incessant calls throughout; beautiful Yellow-eyed Babbler & Red Avadavat showed up. Fig: Largestroemia flosreginae

- Program is open to all, people of any age or experience level are welcome to take part
- Field trip involves three hour strolling / walking
- Carry sufficient water and snacks for individual requirement
- Please make your own vehicle arrangement to reach the location
- And, silence is the essence of nature walk.
