THREATS AND CONSERVATION ISSUES
AQUACULTURE: FISHES -Since fresh water augment is poor, very limited fishing activity is very restricted
LOSS OF CATCHMENT AREA: PERSISTING - Inflow feeder channels encroachment could not be cleared due to un-organised growth of expanding city
AFFORESTATION: Led to growth of tropical secondary scrub/ Dry deciduous forest attracting more arboreal birds, at the same time kept away the terrestrial birds
DRAINGE: PERSISTING -Could not be stopped completely even after meticulous planning
TOURISM & DISTURBANCE TO BIRDS: PERSISTING - Increased human activity along the peripheral walking track, has affected foraging and breeding birds
CLEARING HERBS & SHRUBS REGULARLY: ADDED - In order to keep the tank premises neat and tidy, on demand from regular health conscious visitors, has deprived warblers and butterflies its foraging ground
