Monsoon Flowers of South Karnataka

• An event - CLICK A FLOWER, was organised in memory of late Sri KB Sadananda on his 78th birthday (30th October), a naturalist who inspired many academicians and naturalists in Mysore.

• Photos clicked anywhere in Karnataka and ONLY during 30/10/2020 till 01/11/2020 were eligible for competition.

• Whoever posted maximum number of Flower photos and maximum number of Rare / endangered / endemic flower photos during the course of three days received a book as prize.

• The event received over 300+ flowering photos by 20 participants from 6 districts (Mysore, Mandya, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, Chikkamagalur & Dakshina Kannada)

• Dr. Sampath Kumara KK & Dr. Sringeswara A.N guided the event, identified these plants and selected the winners.

  • Sri Kashyap R - winner for the highest flowering plant pics captured (58 species) and

  • Kum. Pallavi M - winner for RARE/ENDEMIC/THREATENED plant pics category (3 species)
