Weather: cold and misty in the early morning, turned sunny after sun rise.
Participants: 20 members
Habitat:
- Rain fed tank, partially filled by sewage leak.
- Intensive human activity all round the waterbody (joggers & morning walkers).
Sightings:
- Butterflies: Not much of butterfly activity.
- Birds: 64 species
Highlight:
- Amazing to watch dispersal of roosting birds in thousands.
- Roosting birds were, Cattle Egret Bubulcus ibis, Glossy Ibis Plegadis falcinellus, Oriental White Ibis Threskiornis melanocephalus, Indian Shag Phalacrocorax fuscicollis, Large CormorantPhalacrocorax carbo, Little Cormorant Phalacrocorax niger, Common Myna Acridotheres tristis, Jungle Myna Acridotheres fuscus, Rosy Starling Sturnus roseus, & Jungle Crow Corvus macrorhynchos.
- 150+ nests of Spot-billed Pelican's Pelecanus philippensis in breeding island.
- Some Winter & Local Migrants observed:
1. Black Drongo Dicrurus macrocercus
2. Ashy Drongo Dicrurus leucophaeus
3. Eurasian Golden Oriole Oriolus oriolus
4. Blyth's Reed Warbler Acrocephalus dumetorum
5. Common Swallow Hirundo rustica
6. Asian Brown Flycatcher Muscicapa dauurica
7. Rosy Starlings Sturnus roseus
8. Wood Sandpiper Tringa glareola
9. Brown Shrike Lanius cristatus

- Planned very early to have a watch thousands of roosting birds dispersal
- Program is open to all
- Carry sufficient water and snacks for individual requirement
